I followed my father's footsteps into Criminal Defense law. As both a part-time Lutheran pastor and a full-time criminal defense attorney, he taught my sisters and I first-hand the importance of being a person folks can rely on during some of the hardest times of their lives.
When folks are facing the loss of their freedom, their job, or their family, it can be the scariest time of their lives. They need a zealous attorney who will stand up for their rights and their dignity, whatever their background. That is the type of Attorney my father showed me how to be.
Prior to arriving at Marquette Law School, I attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and spent two semesters working as a Parliamentary Special Assistant in the palace of Westminster.
I worked with some of the most accomplished criminal defense attorneys in the State throughout law school and as an associate attorney after graduation, assisting clients facing the most serious of charges including homicides, sexual assaults, federal drug conspiracies, and firearm crimes. I learned the importance of giving every case, and every client, the detailed and thorough analysis the people I represented deserved. I have always preferred the term “presumed-innocent defense” to “criminal defense,” because all my clients are presumed innocent by the Courts, and that’s how I treat them as well.
After honing my skills as a litigator and advocate for others, I started The Singleton Law Firm, LLC in August of 2015. As the Firm has grown, I have kept our focus on the people behind the cases. Great attorneys fight for people, who are being persecuted and prosecuted by their own government. We may be their only allies in that fight, and my Firm will never take that awesome trust placed in us for granted.
The youngest of four children, I was the only one of us kids born and raised entirely in Wisconsin, mostly in the small town of Clintonville just west of Green Bay. I grew up hunting and fishing and still enjoy doing those things when I can get time. However, I mostly stay in Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Southeastern Wisconsin now.
Beyond fighting felony and misdemeanor cases in state and federal court, filing appeals, and representing parents in custody disputes, I try to spend time traveling with my family at least a couple times per year. We also try to see as many Brewers games as time allows.
Mostly, my time is spent helping my clients. If you have any questions about how my firm can assist you, or someone you care about, in dealing with a criminal defense or family law issue anywhere in the state, please give me a call or stop by my firm's Waukesha office, conveniently located at the corner of Grandview Blvd. and Silvernail Rd.
